[a): Barton is sitting out in her yard today on Stone Street, enjoying the weather and putting together an Erector set. The drone workers at the department store kept trying to tell her it was a toy for boys, so she ended up stealing it when they weren't looking.

The only thing is, she's not touching any of the parts to assemble it. She sits with the instructions, looking at the diagrams as the pieces float about and come together in front of her. She's using her telekinesis to build it, trying to teach herself fine control over objects that aren't just her own body. She was never fond of using this power, more relying on her own toughness and fighting ability, but it could be useful in this town. The more she has to work with, the better. Plus, if she ever made it home, it's an effective weapon against her enemy there.

[b) Later, at school, Barton is looking at the posters drones are putting up for homecoming events. She looks confused.]

[She fumbles with the part she was using at Rin's sudden exclamation. She frowns, but this was part of the reason she was doing this outside - to see if she could work through distractions.]

[ Firo can only stomach so much of his dreary Mayfield job at a time, so today he's decided to take the day off. While wandering through the streets he spots Barton hard at work.

He stops to say high, but finds himself just staring in amazement for a few moments. Even though she mentioned having telekinesis, seeing it in action is still surprising. ]

I think I can live with that. [ dancing is one of the few things that seychelles would actually consider a talent of hers. ] Oh, but does that mean that we have to find a date or something…? [ she furrows her eyebrows as she joins her not-sister in surveying the posters ]

[Dad has popped out of the garage to keep an eye on things... and seeing Barton levitating and constructing? He is not sure if he should be complimentary or concerned. Maybe both? He could probably manage both.]

I used to have one of those. Half the set was missing, and it was old... but you know? They build those things to last.
